happy mom

happy mom blog entry photo 1.jpgI've decide not to wear this t-shirt anymore. I really like it and get all sorts of compliments when I wear it. But for some reason everytime I put it on something happens that causes me not to be so happy.

Last week I was wearing it when a life-changing situation came and slapped our family along side the head. I did not handle the situation very well. Then, to make it worse, while I'm mid-meltdown, I look down and see my t-shirt with a big smiley face proclaiming "Happy Mom." I wanted to scream at my t-shirt, but instead settled for feeling like the world's biggest hypocrite.

Maybe I should auction it off on ebay. What do you think? Do you think that I should include some sort of disclaimer? Caution: Buyers beware! This t-shirt will heap burning condemnation on your head if you lose your joy for one second.

Should I be relieved I haven't taken the time to order one yet? It is so adorable, but you're right... as moms living real life...who needs the pressure?

Reminds me of the days when I would take the girls out and try to convince the world that I was June Cleaver only to have one of my daughters proclaim in public that June Cleaver was in tv-land and I was the real deal...ouch!!! I guess that's why children deserve to be heard and seen and why they are so honest. It keeps us humble:)

It's like making a decision to "Do better" --whatever the situation..eating better, exercising more, being nicer...as soon as you make the decison, it gets tested in the most horrible of ways...
but you ARE a happy mom -- but like all of us, have unhappy moments... yeah, ditch the shirt..or frame it...then you can look at it, without the guilt.
It IS a really cute shirt...

I think you should hang the shirt like a flag on the antenna of you car... then, as you drive down the street singing at the top of your lungs with the boys, everyone will see the "Happy Mom" sign flying by... it will be the perfect site to see. Where did you get the shirt? It would be such a fun shirt to give my sister.

Stupid shirt!

Whenever Cole hurts himself by accidently running into the wall or stepping on a toy, I ask if he wants me to give the wall (or whatever the culprit was) a spanking. He always does - and then feels better after I do. Maybe you should wad that shirt up in a ball and let Gunner play with it . . .

Actually it is a cute shirt. You ARE a happy mom, and this too shall pass.

You could iron a disclaimer on to the back... or several other mood options with the accompanying smileys... MAD MOM... SAD MOM... BAD MOM... RAD MOM...
